Fantine Samaha
Fantine Samaha, born in 1979 in Lourdes, is a self-taught painter with a rich multicultural background, having a French mother and a Lebanese father. Her early years were spent in Germany, but the Lebanese war led her family to relocate to France in 1989. Growing up Northern Paris, she didn't return to Lebanon for over two decades. Fantine initially pursued studies in History of Art but diverted her path towards music, signing a contract with Universal Music to chase her dreams as a singer and songwriter. Despite her musical endeavors, her interest in painting persisted. In 2009, she returned to Lebanon, driven by a quest for identity. Between music, writing, and various professional projects, painting emerged as her true calling, providing the answers she sought. Her current artistic project revolves around a unique form of surrealism, unrestricted by specific themes. Fantine's work is characterized by attention to detail and a realistic portrayal of her subjects, often capturing their essence with recognizable looks and postures. She now dedicates herself fully to her art, working from her studio in Beirut-Ashrafieh, where her unrevealed creations come to life.
