Ribal Molaeb
Born in Baissour, Lebanon, in 1992, Ribal Molaeb’s artistic journey began with a move to Salzburg, Austria at age 17 to study at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. He then pursued further studies at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where he earned his Master’s degree in Arts with distinction. Now residing in Zürich, Switzerland, Ribal Molaeb draws inspiration from Lebanese 20th-century abstract expressionists like Saliba Douaihy, Aref el Rayes, and Shafic Abboud. Trained by his father Jamil Molaeb, Ribal captures the serene beauty of nature—sunrises, mystical mountains, and unobstructed horizons—through his tranquil and minimalist canvases. Ribal’s art is a symphony of lines, forms, and color gradations, influenced by his classical music background in Vienna. His painterly abstraction translates sound into visual rhythms, with brushstrokes acting as musical tones. Each piece balances color and shape, creating compositions that resonate with harmony and dynamism, reflecting his musical orientation in every aspect.
